Judy's court date

posted at 10/6/2003 6:46 PM

Well for those who know Judy and want to show support, her court date is this Wednesday, October 8th at 1:30pm.

This is the exact address of the New Jersey Superior Court.

1595 Newark Avenue
Jersey City
2nd floor

time: 1:30pm

For those who are in the dark, Judy Is 17 year old young adult who is under the reckless care of Dyfs, (division of youth & family services). Since she was a little girl, Dyfs has moved her from foster home to foster home, putting her in environments that threaten a healthy development a child is entitled to. For 7 years she has been living in Hoboken where she finally felt at “home” where she was uprooted once again by
Dyfs. Although she has placement available in Hoboken at the Community Church, Dyfs found placement in Glassboro New Jersey where Judy is extremely unhappy. Despite Judy’s wishes to finish her schooling at Hoboken High where she feels most comfortable and her wanting to return to a place where she is most familiar with, Her caseworker, Cynthia Anderson, did not feel like dealing with anymore paperwork and bluntly told Judy that she will not be moved again. Cynthia has told Judy many lies, which I will not get into but will be revealed, in court. Because of these lies and the fact that everyone involved in this case has done nothing but think for her, Judy wants emancipation from Dyfs without loosing her benefits. New Jersey passed a law stating that all children under the care of Dyfs is required to pay full tuition for any college. This is something Judy does not want to loose under any circumstances.

She is a bright student and has exceptional grades. A natural poet, Judy has read her poetry in Barnes & Nobles, Monochrome Monday and the Symposia Bookstore’s poetry event.

If any want to show support, it will be a great help if a lot of people came to court to hear her side of the story.
