There are three important Park related issues on the City Council agenda this week. Everyone interested in parks and recreation is encouraged to attend (at Hoboken City Hall)!
1. Authorizing the submission of a Green Acres application for the acquisition of 1600 Park Avenue.
2. An Ordinance Amending Chapter 196 of the Zoning Code: A Redevelopment Plan for the Northwest Redevelopment Area. Allowing residential units to be built on 800 Jackson Street previously designated as park space.
3. Authorizing the City of Hoboken to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Tarragon/URSA Development Partnership LLC. The Memorandum details how and when the area of 9th to 14th from Adams to the Light Rail would be determined to be “blighted” and in need of “redevelopment”. The details of this agreement will decide when, where and how the community center and pool might be constructed.
