I totally agree with you, Mary. I saw the movie yesterday with a friend and not only were there no audio/video out of sync problems, but I really enjoyed the movie as well, despite the fact that I've never read any of the books. My friend who I saw it with tells me that the movie adaptation was very faithful to the 1st book, however.
