Ummm....I think I must be missing something here but I think lying like this is stupid and a waste of time.
Do people really need to lie about these things just to get a first date??
I mean if a guy lies about his income, for example, does he really want a woman who is going to be more or less likely to date him based on his annual salary? Or does a woman want a man who is either insecure about what he does or makes, or who thinks you'd be more interested if he upped the figure? And wouldn't it just be easier to date someone w/ a similar take on commitment than to constantly put up a front all the time?
I'm not sure how lying about your looks does anything because you actually have to see each other at some point.
I guess if you want to lie about these sorts of things, you have no cause to complain about what you get in return.
So are there defenders/proponents of this that can explain it to me?? Maybe I am oversimplifying something that is complicated but this route just seems like it makes life way more complicated than it needs to be and seems like it just wastes time.
