"Suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore vowed to fight to keep his job and to keep a massive Ten Commandments monument in the state judicial building's rotunda after police barricaded the building's doors Monday." -CNN
What is wrong with this guy.. aren't we supposed to keep Church and State separate here? I've got nothing against religion per-se, but the court should not appear to be endorsing one particular religion. Especially when commandment #2 excludes other religions: "THOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME".
Imagine the unease a Hindi, Zoroastrian or even Atheist would likely feel to see such commandments upon entering the Alabama court.
Would this judge take into account such perfectly legal acts as "using the lord's name in vain" or "coveting" when deciding on a sentence?
This has gone too far. The monument should be moved to a church, where it belongs.
