As of Friday, August 15, 2003, the price of a ticket for 39:3-29 (Failure to show your Driver's License, Registration, or Insurance card at the time you are stopped) is going from $44.00 to $173.00. Please make sure your vehicles have the proper documents in them. If you jump in the car to run to the store and forget your wallet with your license in it and are stopped, the fine used to be an annoying $44.00. Now it's a more-than-annoying $173.00 fine. And it's a separate $173.00 ticket for each document that you cannot show to the officer. If you don't have your license or your registration or your insurance ID card? That's a $519.00 fine.
