Some of you know me as a borderline fitness nazi - what with all my marathon training, gym ratting, etc. Some also know that my running was side-lined due to a foot injury that stupidity brought me last fall.
I was concerned that the lack of cardio I would experience due to my switching to stairmasters, bikes, etc. would lead me to fatcity.
So I cut back on the junk. Way back. I became very careful to eat balanced meals with a minimum of sugar and fat (soda, fries, peanut M&M's). No pints at the bar, either. Wine or hard liquor only. And a minimum there too.
Guess what? Fat actually came off faster than all but my peak marathon training weeks.
My conclusion: if you want to lose fat eating less and eating better goes a long way. It just takes will power. The more "comfort food" you eat, the more you will "need."
