We have had a long and brilliant discussion of what ego is. How do we rid ourselves of this hindrance, and it is a hindrance to a spiritual life.
I awoke this morning from having had a brush up with ego just before regaining conscious awareness. Ego sets the stage by bringing up a grievance. Once a person has been forthright to express a grievance where something can be done about it, that is the end of the grievance per se. What continues afterward is ego based. Ego takes that germ of true grievance and magnifies it squeezing out all the juice of it over and over again. It's this broken record going on and on that is ego and one's ability to step aside and see this enables one to snuff it.
For example, I have shared with you all many times how i got caught up in ego in the first place. That event has been forgiven by all that matter, myself included. But losing the clatter regarding this is another thing entirely! That forgiveness took place years ago. Ego will not let it go. It is too juicy! It can get me stirred up so quick and keep me stirred up all day, if I do nothing about it!
Learning this and how to lose it is where I am now. I'm getting there, actually. Bit by bit. It requires diligence! And more diligence. The quicker I spot it, the better my day goes!
When I play and write music, I have pulled the plug on ego for that time. So I stay in thie creative state as much as possible. Meditation is another place beyond the reach of ego. So, seldom do I check in here to share with all of you. It gets to be chancey.
I always refer back to Reiki. Only through the power we tap when we allow reiki, does help really sink in! It is marvelous! When I shut my eyes I see it cycling in like looking directly into the eye of a spiral. The Source has already given us all we ever need. We simply avail ourselves of it!
