Angels in Disguise
You may not believe in Angels,
perhaps you don't agree
but I've an Angel on my shoulder
even though you cannot see.
You can shake your sceptical head
you can roll your doubting eyes.
Perhaps you cannot see it but
the Angels's in disguise.
No matter what is happening
as if emerging from mid-air
there's a very gentle Angel
who gives me loving tender care.
It might be something simple,
a kind word, a cup of tea,
it can lift the sudden gloom
and I am what I could be.
I could be grateful for what I have,
I could banish unknown fear
and replace that fruitless frown
because an Angel's always near.
