Distant attunement do work because whether it is distant or
in person, it is you who is the one receiving. I have found that the experience is dependent on the person, some folks feel more comfortable in their own home by their self, while others prefer the energy of a group/ class situation. My preference has been the in person class.
Ultimately I recommend experiencing both.
