NAMASTE NISHANU, I am very familair with your question : I have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years. Being a male in a traditionally female role has had it's challenges. I have worked as a labor nurse and er nurse where I have had to touch females. This is my experience: 1) Always attempt to build up trust from the very first moment your approach your client. 2) Always make your client feel safe and secure. For example let them have control of the enviroment where possible. This can be done by explaining your agenda, the physical layout of your office etc., let family or a chaperon be present, approach your clientfrom a side that allows her free and immediate acess to the door, and alos just by being professional and letting your caring attitude towards her be clear. 3) as for REIKI, explain and use a chart to show her the hand positons and then explian the heart chakra. Give her plenty of time to verbalize any concerns. Probably the best is to use the 6 inches above the body approach. I have one female client that has told me of her trust and confidence so she lets me place my hands on her. I use a position that my master showed me: one hand directly over the center of her chest just slightly towards the upper chest to avoid as much of the breasts as possible and then put the other hand on top of the first hand. My master says that this intensifies the enregy. So far in my practice as a nurse and REIKI practioner ,I have had no problems or objections from female clients. It all revolves on your appraoch and actions. One more tip, keep as much eye contact with your client. Dont stare her down ; just let her know that you are interested only in her well being.
hope this helps,REIKIBLESSINGS
