I am new to Reiki and have a question. I have recently taken the reiki1 attunement by way of a video I purchased. I also have done much research regarding reiki. I practice self treatment and started using on a friend. I know that receiving an attunement in person would have been more beneficial. However,I dont doubt that a transformation has taken place from using the video. When I bring this up to others who are familiar with Reiki they often frown upon and doubt that it has worked. Any opinions?
Also, alot of the books I have read I have had to put down because I couldnt take hearing about the importance of paying top dollar for an attunement. Money continuously kept coming up and I was getting the impression that the more money you spent, the better attuned you would be. I believe that Reiki is free. I am not influenced by others but just seeking some validation and clarification. Please help.
