Thank you all SO MUCH for your replies.But I have to say...now I 'm more confused than ever about symbols...:-(
Well, I don't know why my Reiki Master felt she had to attune me to the Harth symbol and the double CKR...I know she herself had studied with more than one Reiki Master and been attuned to all sorts of things.There was a time that I felt that non-traditional attunement(Reiki II) was at the root of all my problems.But since a lot of those problems have cleared over time, I feel that it must have been all orchestrated by my Higher Self :-).There must have been a reason I connected with her.Also, I feel that it's fear-based thinking to speculate about the validity of non-traditional Reiki.I believe at the end of the day, it's all Reiki.And I believe it all comes from God.And we are all part of that so if we fear it then we resist a part of ourselves.
These days I don't draw symbols anymore...Sometimes I just repeat them as a mantra during sessions, sometimes I don't use symbols at all.As Rob said, it has been widely reported that Usui Sensei only meant them as tools for those who had trouble focusing.
Whatever.It's all God if you ask me. :-)
