Hi Chrysanthemum,
I too have had many cats over the years and agree that they tend to recover quickly and do not dwell, too much, on the surgery of spaying. I did have a male cat once who did not talk to me for over a week. As for declawing, though, I do have an adopted/saved cat that had been put through this severly painful procedure by a previous owner. She definitely knows that she has no claws. She is self-concious about it. I give her Reiki all the time. She is two years old and we have had her a year now. So please try to be sensitive to the fact that your kitten has had the ends of her fingers removed. It has been stated that this is the most painful procedure done to cats, and has since become illegal in several states and countries around the world. I also have a 6 month old kitten whose claws I trim weekly. I do this when she is sleeping and it works like a charm. All of my other cats only claw where they are supposed to claw and the $5 yard sale chair. (Ha! Ha!) I have definitely found dogs to be more destructive. I do not mean to be on a soap box if that is how I am coming across. I am simply for alternatives to painful procedures done to innocent beings. I did not even circumcise my son. The pediatrician said it is merely cosmetic and he does not do them. With all this said, I do offer Reiki to your kitten Lily, and gladly. I love sending Reiki to animals. Take care of her and get the softest litter that the vet recommends. It will be a bit painful for her to walk for awhile.

Blessings to Lily,
Janet
