Cindy,
It is very hard to find people willing to pay for "just Reiki", and even as I say that I feel horribly sick about it. The fact is there are so many people who are Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, CranioSacral Therapists, Acupuncturists, etc-- who practice Reiki -- it's sometimes hard to find people who desire coming to a Reiki practitioner only.
One of my Reiki students, had a similar problem. She is a Reiki Master, not only be me, but also in Rand's Usui/Tibetan lineage. She is also Certified in Crystal Healing. The only reason she started getting SOME clients was because she donated her services to a few people, and they got hooked, but she couldn't have done that if she wasn't also working part time, and had a husband who makes okay money.
Some suggestions:
1. Give introductory lectures on Reiki and it's benefits.
2. Get professional certification in Reiki -- the most
famous organization providing this is the International
Association of Reiki Professionals.
3. Take a comfortable chair, like a big camping chair, to
co-ops, health food stores, etc -- and give free Reiki
treatments, or Reiki for donations.
4. You might want to read the book "Business Mastery".
It has information on setting up a natural health
business, and much of it is particularly suited to
Bodywork and Energywork practitioners.
Good Luck,
Raven
