Alot of people don't understand the significance
of the lineage. Some lineages have names. Some
lineages don't. Some lineages had names, but
then broke off from the main lineage and now
are independent lineages. Some Masters don't
know enough to quote their reiki lineages.
Generally -- If a lineage comes from Master Usui, to Dr. Hayashi, to Madame Takata... the lineage can at least loosely be referred to as Usui Shiki Ryoho (Usui Healing Method), which was the name by which Takata used to refer to her tradition. From the Takata lineage, other lineages broke off like the Radiance Technique, Raku-Kei Reiki, and Usui/Tibetan Reiki (Rand's lineage).
Usually, it's not sarcastic... but many many masters today are not very well trained, and not very well informed.
