What a beautiful tale, very special indeed. I don't know a lot about guides except for that i know my own, but i would say that people could "share" guides, why not? There are earth angels that represent themsleves to us in times of need eg. lovely people who care for us, or a nice remark from someone, so perhaps angels share themselves in the spirit world as well.
But of course i don't really know about such things, i'm just speculating!
