Hi espirit
Some suggestions - but I emphasise: Suggestions:
CKR can be conceptually translated as something like: "In the presence of the spirit(s)"
Takata-Sensei translated it as 'put the [spiritual] power here'
it has elsewhere been given as meaning "spirits direct(from God)
thus, CKR could, I feel, possibly be considered, in a Christian sense, to be a 'calling upon the Holy Spirit'
DKM - the 'Great Kômyô', or 'Great Bright Light', alludes to 'Enlightened Nature' or the Radiance of a numinous being or deity
so perhaps it could be seen in terms of the 'Light of the World', 'the Light of God'
SHK speaks of 'Emotional Calm' or 'Spiritual Composure'
it brings to mind that scene in the boat on Galilee:
"Why are you afraid?" said Jesus. "Have you no faith?" Stretching his hands out over the lake, he spoke to the wind and the waves: "Peace, be calm." Instantly the storm died down and the lake grew still...
and all that this passage symbolically implies
HSZSN: "Correct Thought (Mindfulness) is the essence of being" ... well...
anyone else got any ideas?
