Dear Evie,
I have had many doubts of this nature over the past five years that I have been doing Reiki. In my case, I have learned that many a doubt has sprouted from a basic lack of confidence in my self and my abilities to do (or be) anything. I've also noticed in my experience with Reiki, that there seems to be a sort of ebb and flow to the practice, which interestingly enough, is connected to how willing I am to open up to the experience of simply be-ing and letting it be.
In reference to Mr. Brown's "beleif affects": I have found that my beleifs, attitudes, "programing" do determine how I interpret my experience. That said, I'd like to add that there are things that exist and function without the need for us to beleive in them. Our belefs do influence how or even if we perceive them (such as Reiki). If one is willing to give more creadence to our doubts about a thing, does it make it less "real" or true?
I leave you with this quote from John and Lyn St. Clair Thomas:
"For those who beleive, no proof is necessary.
For those who don't beleive, no proof is possible."
Namaste

PS Beleive in yourself, do not be afraid- you have within you all wisdom, all power, all strength, all understanding.
