When I give a massage, sometimes there is a smell that I have come to associate with detox of both the body and energy field. It is not a pleasent smell but one that means that there was work accomplished and that the session went the way it was supposed to for that person.
I am not the only massage/reiki worker to have noticed this either. Some of my other massage/reiki friends have discussed this several times.
I usually do a thorough energy cleaning between clients so I haven't noticed anything left around.
I also have a friend that does hypnotherapy/reiki that has also noticed the same smell. She was the one that clued me into what it was.
I usually notice the stale tobacco smell immediately. Especially since I quit three years ago.
Practice cleaning the space you work in both before and after every session.
