Dear Friends,
For some time I have watched as some have come to our cafe (and other similar forums) with requests for information on various types of Reiki. Invariably these sincere requests are met with jokes and/or teasing...and this is beginning to bother me. While many of us may believe that most of these new Reiki "types" are either creations of a "new agey" mindset or outright scams, I don't feel it is necessary to make the person requesting information feel silly or stupid for asking their question.
After travelling the path of Reiki for many years one learns to use considerable discernment when sorting through all of the Reiki information that is available. But who is to say that what is right for one person is right for another person? Yes, to Reiki traditionalists these other forms of Reiki are unnecessary, but perhaps something within them resonates with a person seeking to understand Reiki or a spiritual path. Perhaps offering information as to why you feel as you do about the plethora of Reiki offerings would be more beneficial to seekers of knowledge than poking fun at their request.
Just my thoughts on the matter, for anyone who is interested!
