gavstar,
I have been a member of this site for a good couple of years, maybe more. I can remember the time when there were only 13 or so members anyway :)
I have never seen any hint of the censorship of which you speak. In fact I usually only ever see friendship, kindness and compassion here. It has indeed always been a haven to retreat to. At times points are made bluntly, some people are more direct than others, whilst others dress it up a little :) That's just the way of human beings isn't it, irrespective of culture or anything else? Added to that, the written word is not always a very effective way of communication because it lacks the 'body language' that often softens the point being made.
I am English, just as you, but I can see no preferential censorship or cultural differences, never have done. I consider these people both friends and teachers. I have learnt and continue to learn so much here and I have the greatest respect for those that take the time to run the forum and those that participate here.
I think that most of us agree that there is nothing wrong with lively chat as long as it stays respectful and doesn't get 'personal'.
Gentle Blessings
Helen
