I dont know if this master has developed his own non-triditional treatment or not But a Reiki session should
always be comfortable for both master and claint.
Brushing the U is a good practice( I always do it after
the session.)
Drinking pure water after a session helps ground you, and about not taking a shower for 24hr?... A nice shower will help center you and feels great.
My advice is find another master who will explain what thay are going to do before you have the session. It don't have to be a master to treat you, any Reiki with a Reiki I attunement can do the session and you can learn a lot.
