I often experience reiki energy as a white mist. It's like the air in the room becomes-thicker but brighter?
the most startling time was when I was taking Seichim Mastership and we were meditating and doing a reiki circle-just sending energy around the circle-and I could see puffs of white "smoke" when I breathed out and asked someone to shut the door.
My teacher looked at me and laughed and said-"It's not cold in here!."
I have had the whole room "fill up" when doing attunements!
This may not fit with your belief system but one student told me it is suppose to be a sign of the Holy Spirit.It was a surprise because I had not told him of my experiences.
I think you may be simply perceiving the energy. And as mentioned, with some intent to go to the woman next door, you may have actually seen the flow. Just a thought :)

ps if you are experiencing this don;t be surprised if you also start to have "reiki perfume" appear -quite a gift-and other signs of being more aware of the world beyond what we normally focus on.The reiki and the meditation have made you more aware of more subtle levels, I suspect.
