Hi Becky,

You're very welcome. Remember, though, "free advice" is sometimes worth exactly what you pay for it!

I'm glad to hear your son is feeling better! It IS, as you said, a "confidence thing" and like Tony Little says, "You can do itttt!" Sorry about that...couldn't resist...

I am schoolteacher, by profession. I'm teaching 3rd graders this year (usually I teach high school but it's where I am right now and it's actually pretty cool) and I find they need a lot of basic instruction before they can apply what they have learned. I generally give as much info as possible to my students so that they have as much background knowledge as possible when practicing new skills or acquiring new content knowledge. Some teachers give just the bare-bones basics and then let their students go to "learn" on their own.

Same with some Reiki teachers. That's how I was trained, really. I love my teacher but I had to spend a lot of time on my own to learn this stuff. I was fortunate to have some time available to do it and the knowledge of how to teach (and learn) material. Most people don't. She thinks I'm better for it and maybe she's right. To me, it's kind of like showing someone a car, and saying that the steering wheel is for turning the car, that "D" is for going forward, then throwing them the keys and telling them they'll figure it out as they go. I'm not sure that that's "teaching"...more "facilitation"...

Now for the ubiquitous "disclaimer": We all learn and teach in our own ways. Do what works best for you.

I actually had a little girl come up to me today with a loose tooth and she was in obvious pain and looking to me for help. I told her to take her hand and put the heel of her palm over her tooth whenever it started to hurt, and that it would go away soon. Then I asked my guides to help her and used my intent to send her distance healing when she needs it. She smiled right away and went off with her hand over her jaw. She seemed fine the rest of the day. That's what this is all about for me.

Nice talking with you! Good luck! Ken
