It is difficult! People love to receive reiki for free, but not so much to pay for it :) They are willing to go for a dozen physio sessions, and pay thirty bucks a pop, but with reiki you have to fix them right away, otherwise it "doesn't work". I've been giving free introductory sessions to show people how reiki works, but guess what, if it doesn't, they don't come back, and if it does, which is most of the time, they don't come back either, because they don't need to!!!! And the next time they need reiki, they go to their chiropractor, physiotherapist, doctor, whatever, completely forgetting that reiki worked!!!! Unless of course you're willing to give it for free, in which case they will happily ask you for it. There is this perception that you shouldn't ask money for it because it's a gift of God.
Anyone else has different experiences, please feel free to disagree :) Maybe it's just being in Canada, where OHIP pays for medical care :)
