Doing hands-on Reiki for others is great stuff.
Yet, there are a multitude of explanations for that toy being rejected by the boy's body. To attribute wisdom to Reiki is not one I would vote for. But, perhaps that is just me.
As for hospital staff permission?? As long as you had parental permission and were not violating specific hosptial visitor policies, I wouldn't worry too much. I trust it was not anxiety about being known publically as a Reiki practitioner that motivated your "surreptitiousness"
