RC,
Some of my best friends are curmudgeons :)
I was afraid I'd be thrown out of the hospital because a) it was the first time I was there, b) hospitals make me nervous, and c) the child was quite ill. I think it was a totally irrational fear.
I've been doing reiki for almost six years now. It has been very strong from the beginning -- so strong that at the beginning it scared me. It would literally wake me up at night because anywhere I had my hands on my body it would feel like fire. Now I am a reiki master and the flow is a lot smoother. BTW I've been accused of doing something other than reiki, because what I do looks a heck of a lot like pranic healing (). The difference is that while in pranic healing the movements are taught, the movements I experience are spontaneous. I've done martial arts and qi gong, so I may be "importing" stuff other than reiki.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is that I have no doubt in my mind that reiki is intelligent energy. The thing I wonder about is where does it come from?
A friend of mine is a Spanish professor married to a professor of Classics. He is incredibly sensitive to energy. I gave him a few sessions, and the next time his wife developed an ailment he told her to come and see me. Being a highly rational and skeptical person, she was incredulous. "You mean you believe that stuff works?" she asked. And his reply was: "I don't just believe that it works. I KNOW."
That's how I feel too.
But we are all entitled to our own conclusions, and I fully respect yours :) The world would be a far poorer place without skeptics and curmudgeons.
All best,
Judith
