I'm new to Reiki, and am interested in working with dogs. I would like to hear from those who work with animals, especially any hints that would make the process go smoothly, and any other feedback on your experience with it.
Some of my questions are very basic: hand positions, animal positioning, etc. For instance, often dogs find it strange when you put a hand on them but don't move it (to stroke or scratch them for instance). I've tried it a couple of times with my own dog, who seems to find it a bit weird, and who did n't want me to try it on her head, but only on her torso.
Have you found adding flower essences, aromatherapy, or t-touch to the sessions helps them relax? Are sessions usually shorter than with people?
