I recently tried to do an attunement but the guides did not attend and it did't feel like it usually does. Normally with an attunement I get a crackly, tingly feeling in my palms as the energy flows.
I thought that it hadn't worked for whatever reason but my friend [who is also a reiki master] said that it often feels different and sometimes you don't feel anything at all but that doesn't mean that the person didn't receive an attunement.
She says she once did an attunement and felt nothing too but the initiate was demonstrably able to perform reiki afterwards. She reckons that each attunement is tailored to the individual and some people just can't take a very high level of energy so that's why it feels different.
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? What are your experiences? Has anyone had a similar thing happen to them?
