Anyone heard of jikadin reiki [not sure if that's spelt right]? A woman is advertising attunements in our local paper. £250 for level 1.
She says she has been to Japan to study it and has photos etc. to prove direct lineage from Usui himself. She claims it is like 50 times more powerful than traditional 'western' reiki and it can cure cancer etc.
Initiation is by two attunements on the first day and 6 more on the second. She teaches that putting the hands a couple of inches off the body and placing the energy in the aura is wrong, and that you should place the hands directly on the body as this is more powerful. Also she teaches a 'pulling bad energy out' technique. Anybody do this?
A friend of mine, who is a reiki master, went to a course and she said that the first two attunements knocked her off her feet [she didn't go back for the last six].
Sounds interesting doesn't it. Anyone heard of it? And what do you think of the placing hands directly on the body argument? Personally I usually keep my hands slightly off - it helps me feel the energy flow and judge where to go etc.
Also the lineage argument - Aren't we all descended from Usui himself? We all must be attuned by someone who was attuned by someone who was attuned by someone who was attuned by Usui. Know what I mean? Maybe she thinks if there are less than 5 people in the chain between Usui and yourself then that makes it stronger. Could be.
Nelys.
