There is also the school of thought that when one does distance work they are not sending the energy anywhere but actually facilitating the connection between the energy and the recipient.
The funny thing about trying to rectify one understanding with another is that we have to accept that one or both understandings are flawed or wrong. Or factors we are not aware of.
Do we know Reiki flows easily through all things? Do we know that there is not some direct connection. Or that the theory i stated above isn't the real case in which case Reiki isn't being sent anywhere thus invalidating the theory.
That's why I listen to what folks say but accept fully what experience shows me. I have ideas and thoughts and what I call the temporary understandings. But i've experienced more than a few temporary understandings that have been off base. And yet have had others validated beyond expectations.
When we say Reiki can or cannot do anything we are being firm in mind of it's attributes. Except we can wrongly interpret any experience. And there is always the possibility that we have no actual clue how energy works at all and we're like a cave man trying to understand nuclear physics.
In truth we know nothing. But always cling to this nothing. Anmd i think to some degree that's pretty much every human on the planet. It's just a matter of how much.
