Wow---thank you all for your insight.
I have been taught many time over the years to never put anyone on a pedestal, to never elevate a person to godly status. And as many times as I've been taught, I never seem to learn. Then when a person proves themselves to be human, I end up jaded and disappointed.
So maybe a big part of the problem IS that I elevated him to superhuman status because he is a Master and my elder. Yet somehow, knowing that he really is human is helping me to be more comfortable around him. I gave him a lot of power; now I don't have to, 'cause he's just a person like the rest of us. Kinda levels the playing field.
Lesson learned.
I wish I could address some of the great points that were made in every post here. There was something for me to learn in every one.
Blessings and gratitude to you all.
