Turn thinking away from "they are influencing me", etc and toward responsibility for our own reactions/responses/decisions. Sometimes that means recognizing our role in creating the relationship that drains us. There will always be "people" with strong needs & they are drawn to people who give them exactly what they are looking for. This is a two way street. Usually it is harder to see our role in the development of any relationship. When we reach our limits it is possible to ask others to respect that & to back off a little. Perhaps not so easy to respectfully ask that when you are drained.
Be as gentle with yourself as you are with them. You are no different than anyone else, you may perceive it that way though when things are draining. This is the time to find a way to relax & recharge yourself so you can be objective about what is happening.:)
Roxy's suggestion re the egg shield is effective. Some people visualize a force field, etc. Do it when you wake & before going to sleep & at least during the day. Do that for 30 days and you will see a difference in your thinking. Change your thinking and the rest will follow. It takes time. You have to be willing to do the work. This isnt rocket science but it takes persistence & vigilance. Some call it mindfullness? People often reflect issues we carry inside us & THAT can be very draining. Much easier to face it & deal with it than not. But, hey, easier said than done! We are all in the same boat. Creative people generally have ups & downs in energy. If we were all relaxed & cool all the time maybe it would be a boring world, who knows? No one!!!.... cause the world just AINT that way! There are times I need others to remind me of what I just posted here! :)
