reikibalance,

- first, my skepticism of distance attunements is strong and broad (and from the multitude of complaints I have heard over the years from many who have received distance attunements I would say my skepticism is very well founded)
- I do not do distance attunements nor do I council anyone else to do them
- also, as an advanced student in Layayoga (Kundalini Yoga) I would say that Reiki cannot be used in the manner you describe (or Gabrielson suggests) to raise the Kundalini - my Yoga Teacher is also a Reiki practitioner and teaches similarly
- there are other practices which take time, effort and mindfulness to work 'intentionally' with the kundalini
- simply wishing the Kundalini to rise will not make it happen - there are many who practice for years with teachers before they can raise and work with the Kundalini - and some never accomplish it in this lifetime
- now, it is taught that if energy such as the Kundalini is somehow misguidedly forced out of its normal channels (not likely a common occurrence) ill effects of one sort or another may arise
- I have heard many complaints over the years that one thing or another or some ailment is due to the Kundalini - without working with such a person, in person, I have no reliable way of even guessing that the Kundalini is involved - and even in person the issue may not be entirely clear
- I would offer: keep up the Reiki - better yet get some Reiki from others - and perhaps consider investing some time in regular Layayoga practices
- and there is, of course, no way to tell how long you might have to "ride it out"
- hope this helps in some way
