Ms. Roxanne,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- awareness of one's health and medical condition is always a good thing but fear based on what seems to amount to unfounded rumor is not healthy
- the issue seems to be a lack of certainty about the nature of ULE and its interaction with Reiki practices
- there is no conclusive evidence that I can find that ULE during Reiki practices is electromagnetic in nature - of course, one can also argue that there is no evidence it is not
bagl
- but, I think it is safe to say that we would have heard about cases of pacemaker irregularities (many of which will be minor and of little danger) had they occurred
- artificial pacemakers are simply impulse generators
- strong radiation from medical equipment and strong electromagnets in medical and other equipment may affect their operation but common home appliances, common cell phones, etc are not rated as problematic
- and no magnet any of us would commonly have in the house is even remotely powerful enough to affect a pacemaker - most can barely impart a weak magnetic charge to a paperclip when contact is made
- and, most artifical pacemakers have auto-turn-offs when they are not needed, ie, when the heart in question is bearting at the proper rate - if that rate drops then the pacemaker kicks in again
- ah the wonders of allopathic, scientific biomedical stuff
>:-}}
- now, if only practitioners were as reliable in turning off their personal energy when it is not 'needed' or wanted
