Dear Finality,
I think alot of people experience that to varying degrees and chalk it up to having bad skin. I can get the part about having skin irritation from exuding toxins via the skin for sure.
As far intentionally cleansing one might expect a bit of that. But it should taper off though. I question another causal factor or reason other than the cleansing if it seems to keep going on. That would indicate to me that one is not just perhaps dumping residual stuff but actively producing a fair load of it. Or it could simply be a huge residual toxic off-loading. Or some mix of the two + an allergic/environmental factor.
Anecdotally, I have found that an Epsom salts bath is wonderfully effective at drawing this very crap out of the skin, whatever the cause. You can actually feel it in spots; it's tickley.
A great compliment to that would be a lite fresh Aloe Vera application. Straight from the plant. Aloe Vera is very healing and repairative to the skin. And it has Mother Earth goodness that you can feel right away. No matter what the skin ailment might be.
Years ago I got Infantigo on my face from a ridiculously tiny spittle of deep fryer oil that hit my face weeks earlier. A tiny little abrasion of the very tiniest top dermis layer slowly and then quickly grew into a red and raw patch on my face. It looked like a circle of road rash with the scab gone. All the cremes and pills from the doctors it seemed to scoff at. Or make me sick or both. These vain efforts went on for weeks.
It was getting depressing. It was the size of a drink coaster now and was spawning a smaller, quarter sized one. I was at a friends house one nite towards the end of this. After some late nite conversation, Bridget sent me home with a fresh Aloe branch and simple instructions.
At home in the mirror I liberally applied the fresh Aloe. The succulent limbs of the plant make a perfect application tube; like toothpaste. Anyhoo, I put on as much as gravity and viscosity would bear. It stung bit for a moment but not too much. I went to bed Mindful to sleep on my back so as not to wipe the gel on my pillow. The stings were slight and felt focused like acupuncture on my face.
The next morning I went straight to the bathroom mirror. To my dismay the big ugly infected patches were raised a bit higher and Vermillion-purple as opposed to the lower case Angry red i was used to....Great!?!
I hopped into the the shower and rinsed off and was amazed. The V-purple washed off to reveal the infection spots to be visibly healed 20% at least. Withing 10 days of use the Infantigo scourge was gone. With no scaring or evidence at all.
Anyhoo, that's my Aloe Vera story.
Namaste,
Michael
