A NEW APPROACH to the Open Mic format will be tried out at Hoboken's Rodeo-Ristra Lounge, 230 Washington at 3rd Street, TUESDAY, Feb 12 at 8:30 to 9:00 PM -- when the "unsinkable" MICHIGAN JACKSON will open the program EARLY (8:30 pm)with a half-hour series of "Verses & Vignettes." We'll get the place warmed up for the first band at 9:00. Each of Michigan's pieces (on widely varying subjects) lasts about THREE MINUTES,& there will be mini-intermissions, like TV station breaks. Of interest to MUSIC BUFFS, Michigan will include a sling-slung medley of 1930's-1940's million-seller "novelty" songs, from "Flat Foot Floogie" to "Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas."
