Looking for a musical situation

Hi there...

I am looking for a collaborative situation with a singer/songwriter/performer, male or female. I've been getting discouraged with the Voice, Aquarian and other NYC-area classified services, and am itching to get back into the creative arena.

I am male, 31, a Hoboken resident, and guitarist for over 17 years, with over 11 years of performing/recording experience. Also have soild background (and occasional lead) vocal ability and musical/vocal arranging skills.

Have played in a variety of situations, with the longest tenures in a straight-ahead rock project (1992-1997) and, most recently, a power-pop project (1999-beginning of 2002). Have also played in a couple of pit orchestras, a funk band, a couple of cover bands, an acoustic trio...you name it!

I've found I work best in collaboration, and would certainly considering building a whole band around a smaller duo/trio.

I'm not looking to become a rock star-been down that path a few years ago, and have done that-but am certainly looking for something more than just a 'diversion', and, of course...who knows?

Influences are wide and varied, but have been listening to lots of Elvis Costello, Neil Finn, Suzanne Vega, XTC, and Radiohead lately.

Interested? Drop me a line-look forward to hearing from you-

Joe

Joe, Have you been going to Open Mic night at Rodeo Rista?
There are a lot of Creative people that hang out/perform there. If you go a few Tuesdays, I'm sure you could find a few people that you may want to collaborate with!

ask around for Paul. you can hear some rough samples of our stuff at www.crewmannumbersix.com we're pretty much simple rock, a little heavy, tuned all to D and 31 -32 years old not looking to be rockstars either.
