Bandland Productions, a Hoboken-based consortium of artists promoting artists, and Rodeo-Ristra present "Indie (R)october," an eclectic month long series of independent music. The series defies genre and represents a melting pot of musical styles, from a cappella to low-fi post-folk to "pro-space electronic pop music." Kicking things off on Wednesday, October 2nd are Bubblyfish and Ethan Lipton.
Bubblyfish : "Swimming up the sound stream. Beats and frequencies bubble to the surface. Gameboy by a gamegirl." Bubblyfish is former ZIA member Haeyoung Kim, performing experimental electronic dance music on a laptop computer, Gameboy, and other electronic gear.

Ethan Lipton : "Leon Redbone and Jonathan Richman are proud to announce the birth of their son, Ethan Lipton." Ethan performs original old-time songs a cappella, singing uplifting odes to black cotton sweaters and heart-wrenching tales of turkey salad sandwiches uneaten. Don't miss the haunting melodies and dulcet tones of Brooklyn's favorite self-defeating Casanova.
The show takes place at Rodeo-Ristra, located at 230 Washington Street in Hoboken. There is no cover, and the first act hits the stage at 9pm.
