I would like some tips on building up callouses and left hand strength for chord transitions and practicing consistently and productively
After maybe 20 years of not picking one up, I have started playing acoustic guitar again, when I was a kid I stopped playing because I didn't want to practice, that didn't change much, now I'm just looking to strum while my jam partner picks and we both sing, until now we both sang and he played
So I'm trying to get good quick without practicing a lot and without getting discouraged, practicing during breaks from other work, thinking of practicing in traffic too [aelroy freaked over that idea so far, and it's also harder to hide from cops than a book, though with those I'm better because I went back to books on tape]
Starting with not playing for a long time, just a few minutes here and there, but have to do it longer and a little every day
Starting with stuff I like [jam partner showed me chords to comfortably numb and Plush], though it is not necessarily the easiest beginner stuff, got some books and also tabs of some songs I found online that I'll look at too
Doesn't help that I have really really limited time to do it, but I want to use the time I do dedicate to it well
