The Artkore Experience

I have always been the type of person where if I were to discover beautiful, I would always give it to someone else to enjoy. Last night was one of them. Although the open-mic sing-up list was short, there was a nice, group of people who enjoyed the show. I was sad not to see some of my friends. I wanted them to see a band that grabs and memorize the Id. I wanted to feast on the feeling I get while see this sincere, real band. I wanted to share that “roll your eyeballs back” feeling with everyone.

Karyn Kuhl rocked without a doubt. As much as I saw them play in different venues, I loved seeing them perform at RodeoRistra for that intimate atmosphere. I was Honored to have hosted such a work of musical art. I was excited to even be their soundman for a night. I saw many heads lock on to their hypnotic, seductive sounds while they savored their edge. You would understand what I mean by “raw” if you’re old school Hoboken and remember “Sex Pods”. I am so “chuffed” (enthusiastic, excited) as Frances would say. Check this out http://karynkuhl.com

Not only did our feature deliver us to the gateway of sound ecstasy, I have not yet gone into detail how our open-mic performers did. We started with Tempus Fugit doing an acoustic act (nicely done guys). We also had Tray of Ashes perform (nice piano technique Lars) and of course let’s not forget Gibby of High Speed Chase (my man makes that acoustic guitar sound heavy!!!). To my surprise, I found out yesterday that Lloyd Gold, (Rodeo’s featured painter at the upstairs art gallery) is the same Lloyd Gold of the fun and clever band, “My Pocket Zoo”. Lloyd puts the Capital P in Party time!!! They also played as a band at the open-mic and of course the audience ate it up wanting more. Butterspy (http://butterspy.com/) did a late session at open-mic as well. Now listen up carefully all you women out there, Dave of ButterSpy has tremendous sex appeal when it comes to music. Butterspy, I give you mad Props my brothers. Your material is F*#@ catchy for lack of a better word. You have definitely sold me to see you at Arlene’s Grocery on the 23rd of this month. I’ll be there brethren Butterspy.

If I left anyone out it is because I am at my job and cannot write anymore. My computer is shot and I need a new PC. (by the way, if anyone is giving a PC, I’ll take it).

My friends, once again, I am sorry you missed it. I wish you were all there.

Actually, the name of the band Karyn was in is Sexpod (one word, no 'S'!). I'm not trying to be difficult .... just thought I'd point it out! I HIGHLY recommend their "Goddess Blues" cd!

You lost me there Bob.
lol hahaha.
always wanted the right time to say that.
I have their CD. Figure I should know their name but hey, I am dyslexic. I tell you another blunder that I did at show. Karyn's newer song I beleive to be is called "Endless Girl". Now let me tell you that this song does it for me. IT puts me in a state of mind that I would like to carry along throughout the whole day. Anyway, when I got up on the mic after they finished thier first set, I made and attmemt to remeind them that there is more to come. I said, "Look out for a song called 'everlasting girl'" I hear someone in the back yell ,"ENDLESS GIRL!"
"...I mean "Endless Girl"

Being a parody of oneself is entertaining. I use it to my advantage when I host. Anyway, did you get to see the show? I think I did a good when it came to their sound. I had trouble getting Lola's Level but I rectified that later on.
