i LOVE karaoke.... in hoboken, Oddfellow's Wednesday is pretty good. In NY, I like Winnie's or Japas, or Planet Rose is ok during the week (there's always too long of a wait on weekends...), or for private room karaoke Muse.

I say we take a vote on the best place . pick a time and date and lets do it..its so much fun..

This would be so much fun! I know a zillion people who would be interested in coming along too :)

So my vote on where to go ... if Hoboken, Oddfellows on Wednesdays is good. The KJ has a great song selection and the crowd is pretty receptive. For Manhatten, I'd say a weeknight at Planetrose ... also a great song selection, and the set-up lends itself better to groups than some other places I've been to.

I am Japanese, and have never done Kara (empty) Oke (large dipper)... Why they call this karaoke? I have to ask my Mom, who knows Japanese stuff..

it means 'empty orchestra' with the "oke" coming from "okesutura"

I vote for Oddfellows. I was there tonight and the karoake crowd was good. Convenient location for the NYers too.
