We live in hoboken and have been to almost every restaurant in town, but after reading the posted messages was a bit timid to go to venue, but we gave it a shot and LOVED it, WOW it was AMAZING! We loved the decor. Service was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. My wife had the sea scallops and I had the salmon sashimi- it came with a apple cucumber sorbet and tart soubise pipette which was awesome.
We were very interested in learning more about the chef/owner James George Sarkar.
He is young and upcoming chef who is making his marks on the culinary ladder. Venue has gotten good reviews from NY times, NJ monthly, Star Ledger, Hudson reported and the Source magazine. He also was featured on the "David Lieberman" show on the food network as redefining dining. He also was or will be in Art Culinaire -which is a well respected publication casing the best chefs around the world.
Before Venue opened we would frequent Amanda's
restaurant, we realized there is no comparing the two. Amanda's is nice, but not as exciting enough as venue.
We have become BIG fan's of Chef James Sarkar and his restaurant - VENUE. Our experience at venue has been a
memorable and exciting one. Leaving us to come back for more.
