Trees!

This whole sidewalk improvement thing on Wash was really getting on my nerves. There was even less parking because of the construction; They did not put in walk/don't walk signs; The new street lights are too low and make it hard to see while your driving.

But yesterday they planted new trees all along the block and that was a true improvement.

Speaking of improvements . . .

What City Council candidates are the Favorites here?!
I have no clue who to vote for.

None of the candidates have my wish on their platform...A guaranteed, assigned parking spot for all city Home Owners/tax payers.

Dude..I could not give a toss if the esthetic improvement have safety or any real intrinsic value...I am all about stuff that make my property value go up and I heard that they are going to do this on my block so I am stoked...

And if they take down the street light that is in perfect line of sight to blind me while I am sleeping in my loft I am all for that as well...

Next thing they can do is put so freeking speed humps in the middle of the street so that all of the Harley riding jackasses will keep from winding up 1st gear and then snapping off the throttle just to make my windows rattle..i will be all set...

All I can say is that who ever it ends up with ward 2 is going to have me on thier ass on a regular occasion becuase I have no idea who the hell runs ward two now but they have never been on my block...which is hard to belive becuase you pretty much cannot leave Hoboken without visiting/passing thru my block...

I am just really torqued at how all of the attention is paid to Wash. St. and the air of blatent disregrad is kept for the rest of the town...(especally this weekend)...

Cool. So does Roberts get credit for this one?

I really don't know who to vote for, so I guess I won't vote. I could vote for the candidate that was standing on the corner of 9th/Clinton on the rainy day last week asking us to vote for her. She even used her umbrella to keep people dry. I could vote for Cricco b/c I like his imformative e-mails, but these don't seem like good reason to vote for someone.

Anyone have any good stories on the candidates? I've been reading the Reporter and I still don't have any favorites.

They say all politics is local...and that's certainly true in Hoboken. I am going to vote for the candidate that is truly independent and can make a decision based on what's good for the community and not a dictate from a power broker in City Hall.

That doesn't mean that I'm not voting for someone on Robert's Ticket, it just means that I am committed to finding the individual that will vote his/her conscience regardless of what ticket they are on.

In addition, I am looking for the right candidate that can move issues through city hall, whether it is in the Mayor's office or other areas.

It might be hard to find these attributes, but I'm looking!

Anyone have any thoughts on what they are looking for before casting a vote?

No-one seems to have any opinions on our Politicians . . . or they don't want to talk about it.

Well, I just read this postcard that I got in the mail that said that we're not suppose to vote for Hoboken Alliance Team, specifically Eliz. Markevitch b/c she said "no" to helping Hoboken families.....and this team supposedly said "no" to creating Parking spaces, controlling overdevelopment, supporting public schools, and keeping taxes and spending low. How do we know if this is the truth? This message was sponsored by Roberts and said to vote for Roseanne Andreula.

Hmm, I think I'll go read the flyers that I got on Cricco and the Latin woman. I think I'm in the 5th Ward??

I have no clue who to vote for. Speak up people!
