I wanted to let you know that I received a call from someone that I did not want to. When I started asking them questions on who they were and where they were located. Well, they hung up after I asked where they were located.

Well, I was annoyed so I went to https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx and registered a complaint. I also double checked the site and it is linked with the http://ftc.gov website. (in case of any website hijacking)

I just hang up - it's effective and it doesn't waste time.

I do not think the do not call list is up and going because of a glitch with the FTC. I'm not sure and pasted is a link with more information for each state.

But I believe the Direct Marketing Association gives guidelines on how to handle these types of calls, and one way is to specifically asked to be taken off their call list.
