But nonethe less I must deal with them because my earthlink addy is on too many business cards and college apps at this point. I recently was prompted to change my password and I have not been able to login since! I've cleared my "history". I've reconfigured my account countless time! Still no go. Any computer geniuses out there who can help me. Earthlink's support staff is too clueless.

Hmmm... I have been using Earthlink for about two years. And I know you can change your password. I would use the online chat, people on the chat seems to be a little more intelligent. If you know what you password is, go to the support.earthlink.net. There will be an e-mail maintenance where you can change your password. E-mail me (via profile) if you need additional help.
BTW, I have to agree with Earthlink sucking. To remain "profitable" they offshored about 1500 jobs to India. As soon as my employment situation changes, I will change ISP because I rather pay the extra 3 dollars for my broadband to keep jobs here and to have no download cap imposed on me.
