For those who are not aware, spyware is a device or program or application on a computer that looks at your computer and send out personal information to people. Now, they do this for market purpose so that they can tailor advertisement specifically for you. Spyware (potentially) can also be used to send information that you probably don't want to send.
Ok, now for fun stuff. Apparently, the new software Turbo Tax 2002 has legal spyware that is loaded on your machine. From what I hear (but can not confirm), the software is designed to prevent copy protection but it can do a lot more. I suggest you find another product that can do the same thing, or if you absolutely need to use this software that you remove immediately after you are done. There are instructions in how to remove the spyware on the web (sometimes spyware does not leave even after you uninstall the product itself). And from what I hear, it is extremely difficult to do so.
If you have any questions, please post here I will try to help you as best as I can.

Given that the Turbo Tax 2002 CD has spyware, you might prefer just using the program on their website. No ads there.

just install Ad-aware and run it. It should remove all that crap.
www.download.com
It is under "most popular".
It works great!

Just so that you know, there is also built in software that re-installs the spyware. Something that ad-aware needs to look for as well.
