I'm surprised there's been no board chatter on this issue! I was certainly surprised to hear the news and surprised he just stepped down without a fight. Who is this yutz he's leaving the state of NJ in the care of.
Another thing that disturbed me is that he sounded more ashamed to be gay than to be cheating on his wife. Not that I know anything about the situation but it seems like an example of a gay man who got married b/c he really wanted to have kids. All very sad that he didn't think he had other options.

I was shocked when I saw the headline on CNN.com yesterday. I actually thought the opposite: I didn't think he sounded ashamed to be gay but more ashamed that he wasn't able to admit it until now (at least to the public) and even more so, that it caused him to have an extramarital affair.
The thing that I thought was a little ambiguous though was why he was resigning - because he was gay, because of the extramarital affair and undisclosed private life or because of the threat of lawsuit and the appearance of impropriety as a result. It is very sad though.

I personally could care less who the man does or doesnt do , coming from Providence RI where our newly appointed mayor was openly Gay, as long as the person does his/her job ..my concern is the effect of how this has on the state..meaning who will be in charge.and from the short time that I have lived back here while Mr. Greevey has been office and from what I hear it has to be an improvement....

Who cares if he is gay?
I know of several MPs in the UK that hold positions in the Government.
Unless being gay is preventing him from conducting his job for New Jersey, then everyone needs to get over it. This country needs to wake up in the 21st century.
I expect his wife will take him to the cleaners now and file for divorce. Oh yeah, the Catholic church will be all over him for that now. What ever happened to separation of church and state? ummm...

'I know of several MPs in the UK that hold positions in the Government'.
Gay MPs that is. Being gay doesn't stop you doing your job.

This isn't about sexuality. It's a diversion from the corruption.
