Is anyone else feeling the stress? I am feeling overwelmed and it is still more than a week until Christmas. Any suggestions on dealing with this?

Actually, I find this to be a relaxing time of the year, but that's mostly because its a time when things are pretty mellow at work.
If your stressed out I would recomend meditation. Very good for stress.
And, of course the happy hour on the 21st. Sharing some drinks with friends is a great way to unwind :)

I was feeling it because I had so much to do. And that was not related to any Christmas shopping for gifts to my friends. I had to reduce the amount of shopping this year to get through the month.
Meditation should work. Deep breaths while concentrating on your breathing and a imagining your happy place with no mental interruptions works wonders.

i would say try festivus. it's for the rest of us. there was a funny article about it in the sunday times. otherwise, i i would say if the stress is coming from shopping, try to do it online or in advance throughout the year. don't leave it till the last minute. if it's family stuff, well...i don't have any advice on that.

thanks for the suggestions. It is work and family and personal stuff that is getting to me. I have adopted the attitude that it isn't the worst thing in the world if not everything is done before Christmas. Work will still be there on Monday, etc...

...and family and good friends will still talk to you if you forget to send a card! (Alright so maybe your mother won't let you forget it in a hurry but that's the one you make SURE you send!).
As for presents: try having a year where you give a gift to charlity from each family member. I did it once and they actually thought it was kinda neat (and it made them think up ideas of what they wanted for next christmas and give me clues in advance).
Massage, Meditation and More wine should also help.

Dear, I am in totally agreement, about the stress, I am going to through it .
Now ,your acting very positive , sharing and looking for feedback , others just become sullen and do not take any action.
Everything will be better , time is fluid and flashes of good or bad are like smoke and mirror , I am try to use Buddhist terms,
methaphorically speaking. By the way I am just a novice in the path .
the best
